Today’s post is a little all over the place, but I definitely was thinking fall, at least when it came to the clothes and accessories.
I’m OBSESSED with Pendleton blankets — they’re so pretty and look so cozy. I’m loving gold — still — and the flatware from Target is super affordable (Mom, if you’re reading…Christmas!)
The outdoor patio set is really affordable. By the time I’m posting this, it might be sold out online, but I may go to a few Home Depots this week to see if anyone has them in-stock. The dining chairs are so pretty — we need a set for each end of our table and these might be winners. World Market has been having some great sales, so I’ll be stalking those. The bench–oh, the bench–I wish I had somewhere in the house to put it. It’s gorgeous!
Lastly, check out the bracelet and 31bits. SUCH an incredible company!
On a side note — did my second-straight workout last night with a 30/30 run/walk. It was so humid, but I did two miles, which is a good start. Trying to keep that momentum going!
Enjoy your online shopping/browsing and have a good day!
Wednesdays are starting to become my favorite post days—I have an excuse to online browse!
Today’s Wish List is all about Saints game day for the ladies. When I first moved to New Orleans, I had to rethink my game day wardrobe. Up North, we wore hoodies, jeans and sneakers to football games and, in the South, the ladies are dressed to impress.
Thankfully, the Saints colors are easy to manage — we are truly lucky! I quickly found a few fun t-shirt stores in New Orleans and three are featured in today’s post: Fleurty Girl, Storyville and Sarah Ott. Throwing on one of their t-shirts, a pair of skinny jeans and some booties was my favorite game day look when I attended games as a fan, but you can’t forget a sweater — it’s FREEZING in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome! My favorite jewelry piece included into today’s post is made by a new New Orleans friend, Rheannon. The long geode necklace (9) is part of her new jewelry collection. Check it out on Etsy–the pieces are so pretty! She’s working on adding more items, too, and I cannot wait to see them.
Items 11 & 12 are from the Kendra Scott Color Bar – such a great way to customize some gorgeous pieces for game day! The first Kendra Scott store in New Orleans opens next month and I could not be more excited!
Cute headbands and jewelry are fun for game day and I love the leather cap — great for winter games or rainy days.
The last game-day must-have is an NFL-approved clear bag. Definitely not the most chic accessory, right? My favorite is this one from Design a Latte, a local online boutique in New Orleans. You can get it personalized, too, though I opted for the plain one so friends and family can use it when they’re in town (and since I’m working, I don’t need it on home game days).
Sunday is our final home preseason game — I’m ready for the regular season! I hope this helps my fellow female Saints fans get ready for game day — and fellas, these make great gifts for the Who Dat in your life!
Have a great day and thanks for reading! Go Saints!
After mourning the loss of my favorite pair of nude flats, I decided to take a look at my shoe collection and make sure I had all of the necessary footwear for the upcoming seasons.
Shoes are one of the most fun accessories to shop for, but if you’re on a budget, sticking to a short list of basics is completely doable. I’m pretty hard on my shoes due to lots of running around at work, so I’m very choosey on where I make my investments as far as fancy footwear.
My must-have short list is:
Nude Pumps – the ones I’ve chosen include two pairs from L.K. Bennett – a London-based designer who’s Sledge Pumps are worn often by the Duchess of Cambridge. When I saw how often she wore them, I figured they had to be somewhat comfortable and was fortunate to receive them as a Christmas gift. I usually save them for special occasions — they’re so beautiful! The pair on the far right is a lower-heeled option that I hadn’t seen before. May have to put those on my holiday wish list this year!
Nude flats – LOVE the Tory Burch pair, but I usually defer to very budget-friendly pairs of nude flats. I tend to go through a pair or two every season, so it’s not worth investing in. Other great places to look for quality, reasonable flats are sites like Nordstrom Rack and Saks Off Fifth. I’ve gotten a few great pairs from Nordstrom Rack!
Black pumps – LOVE the Bethany style from Cole Haan. Another pair I chose as an investment (with a Saks gift card I had received!). They’re REALLY comfortable and make for a great pair of every day heels (if I wore heels everyday!).
Black knee-high boots – Both pairs shown above are really pretty. Last year, I found a pair of Bandolino boots that I fell in love with that were about $150 at Macy’s. I’ve already had them re-heeled once and plan to take great care of them because they’re very comfortable. The splurge listed above is actually on sale – $157 down from $350! I’ve never tried on Taryn Rose shoes, but they might be worth a try for that price.
Black peep-toe wedges (or nude!) – I feel like the fifth slot could have gone a lot of ways, but I’m a wedge girl. For the workplace, it’s definitely necessary to choose wisely – some wedges can be too casual for the office. I have to admit, though, in the South, it’s so much more laid back than when I was working in the Northeast. It’s possible to get away with casual shoes/attire, especially in the summer – huge positive of the South!
The last two shoes were just too pretty not to include – browsing Nordstrom’s shoe selection should be considered a hobby! Prints like snakeskin and leopard print are considered neutral these days, so they could both be paired with so many outfit options. They’re both gorgeous!
Hope these options were helpful – I love online “window” shopping, so this was a fun post!
Since we have our first home New Orleans Saints game on Saturday, I pulled my inspiration from my standard game-day wardrobe: black dress, black blazer and black and gold accessories. This blazer will be my go-to this year.
Game days tend to include a LOT of running/walking around and the Mercedes-Benz Superdome isn’t a small building. In three years, I haven’t lasted a whole game in stilettos. My favorite items on this list are the Sloan-Fit Black Cross-Front Sheath from Banana Republic (4), the Margot Necklace from Kendra Scott (12), the Tory Burch Caroline 2 flats from Nordstrom (1) and the Bone Crescent necklace in black from Elizabeth Stone (5). The Bone Crescent necklace is probably the piece highest on my list. I first saw the pieces on New Orleans blogger Jennifer Palpallatoc’s site, Haute Off The Rack . She collaborated with Elizabeth Stone to design a collection, Haute Summer Nights, and all the pieces are gorgeous!
Hope you all are excited about football season, too – Although, can we skip the preseason and get to the real games?!
